Auricular Therapy

Also known as ear acupuncture, auricular therapy is based on the belief that the ear is a miniature representation of the entire body. There are nearly 200 acupuncture points on the ear, each of which relates to a specific body part. Depending on the nature of the ailment, various parts of the ear are stimulated using needles, massage or electrical stimulation to target the area of the body that is ailing or in pain. Auricular therapy has been used successfully to treat chronic complaints such as headaches, back pain, anxiety, depression, PMS and addictions, and can assist in the process of quitting smoking.
